Manchester City’s midfielder, Rodri Hernandez, recently talked about the future of Pep Guardiola, the team’s manager, in an interview with Spanish radio station Cope. Rodri shared that Guardiola is a very ambitious coach, always aiming for the best.
On Monday, Rodri won the men’s Ballon d’Or after a great year, winning his fourth straight Premier League title and Euro 2024. During his interview, he not only discussed his award but also hinted at Guardiola’s future at Manchester City.
Rodri said,
“You want to be with the best, and there will be a ‘before and after’ Pep. When I joined, I was told that Guardiola might leave, but he’s very ambitious. When he’s gone, things will change, but City will still be City.”
Guardiola’s contract with Manchester City is set to end in June 2025, and there are questions about what will happen next. Neither the club nor Guardiola has given any clear hints about renewing his contract.
However, there are rumors that the City board is hopeful he might stay beyond 2025.
