Lyon continued their perfect start to the Women's Champions League with a 3-0 victory over Roma on Wednesday.
The French team now has a 100% record in Group A, while Wolfsburg picked up their first win, thrashing Galatasaray 5-0.
In Group B, Chelsea fought back to beat Celtic 2-1, maintaining their perfect record, and Real Madrid scored seven goals to defeat Twente.
Lyon's Dominant Performance
Lyon, the record eight-time champions, traveled to Rome tied with Roma at the top of Group A, both teams having won their first two matches. Lyon took control of the game early, with Melchie Dumornay scoring two goals in the first half. Her second goal was particularly special—a chip shot from the center circle just before halftime.
Vanessa Gilles added a third goal for Lyon in the 52nd minute, sealing the win for the French side. After the match, Dumornay said,
"I'm happy we won and stayed at the top of the group, especially without conceding a goal. I've always wanted to score a goal like that in a big competition."
Wolfsburg Get Their First Points
Wolfsburg, the Champions League winners in 2013 and 2014, had lost their first two matches, putting them in a tough spot. But they bounced back with a strong 5-0 victory against Galatasaray in Istanbul. The win keeps Wolfsburg in third place in Group A, just three points behind Roma.
Rebecka Blomqvist scored a hat-trick in the game, including two goals late in the match.
"We want to get out of the group by working hard in the next three games," Blomqvist said. "It's a tough group, but we have the power to do it."

Chelsea Hold On Against Celtic
Chelsea, the English champions, played away at Celtic and won 2-1. Celtic surprised Chelsea with a goal from Murphy Agnew in the 21st minute. But Chelsea responded quickly, scoring twice in the next six minutes. Maika Hamano scored first, followed by Ashley Lawrence.
Chelsea couldn’t add any more goals in the second half, but they held on for the win, despite Aggie Beever-Jones being sent off in injury time for a second yellow card. Chelsea manager Sonia Bompastor said, "I'm not really happy with our performance, but we won, and that’s the most important thing."
Real Madrid Crush Twente 7-0
Real Madrid had a big win against Twente, scoring seven goals in a 7-0 victory at home. Signe Bruun opened the scoring early, and Maria Mendez added two goals for Real Madrid. Naomie Feller, Caroline Weir, Oihane Hernandez, and Carla Camacho also scored in the dominant win. Real Madrid is now in second place in Group B with six points.
